Organisation: West Island Association for the Intellectually handicapped (WIAIH)

This organization’s mission is to enhance the lives of those who suffer from an intellectual disability. They offer multiple services to support families and to sensitize the community. The volunteer-driven team operates with the simple philosophy that everyone has the same capabilities to fulfill their potential. With this in mind, the organization is always looking for more volunteers to help out during their multiple fundraisers and events throughout the year. This Saturday (March 14th, 2015), the non-profit organization is holding its annual Saint-Patrick’s Day Dance. Volunteers are needed to greet guests at the entrance and help out at the concession stand. This is an opportunity to meet new, interesting people, to have fun and gain experience. As a former volunteer, I can confirm that the atmosphere within the organization is always  friendly. If you are interested and would like to participate, contact Franca, the Volunteer Relations Coordinator by email at or by phone (514) 694-7090 ext. 214. For more information, I strongly suggest visiting the organization’s website as it is kept up-to-date.
