Child marriage

In this article found on The Guardian, written by Liz Ford, the situation about young women in Africa is exposed. Actually, it is said that the situation concerning teen marriage and pregnancy is urging, because if nothing is done to help, the high rate of pregnant teen will increase of 1 million from here to 2030. In fact, this situation is highly linked to the unequality of men and women because the 15 years old girls have almost no rights on their mariiage and even their pregnancy. Fortunately, the situation is currently held by the UN and they know what is important to do. The major aspect that is required to change, unfortunately maybe the hardest to change, is the equality of men and women. But the solution is all in education. Women as well as boys and men require education to understand and learn safe sexuality, health care services, laws against child marriage and learn about women's right. The need to see this situation change is due to the fact that currently, young women faces a high risk of death and their child too.

After reading this article, it is pretty shocking to see young girls being obligated to marry a man and even have child with him. I think that it is very important for the UN to bring education to these person because it is a big step to decrease the high rate of women having a child under the age of 15. I hope that equality between man and women will start to ajust because it is also the key for the women the be able to have rights and opinion facing their own marriage. Finally, I think that it is encouraging to see what the UN is starting to do over this situation.
