Some of us may remember wearing those dreaful and plain blue uniforms back in high school. While they had some advantages, like the fact that students had an easier time in the morning to choose what they will wear, I feel like uniforms are, overall, not that great, for they transgress the student's right of freedom of expression. Teenagers are going through a period in their lives where they need to discover themselves and forge their own identity, and one way of doing so is by being able to pick what they dress with. After all, schools are supposed to be a place where diversity is praised. Also, one thing that bothers me even more is that the imposed outfits usually cost alot. Sure, you would still have to buy regular clothes that could cost just as much if there were no uniforms at your school but at least you are able do wear them on non-school days like the week-ends and summer breaks, therefore it is a more favorable investment. In the end, as I've been a high school stundent as well, I know how bothersome the uniforms were and that is mainly why I decided to talk about them.
