US college student fails assignment due to professor's belief Australia is not a country

An Australian professor teaching in Southern New Hampshire University fail her student Ashley Arnold for saying that Australia is a country. The instructor explain to her that “Australia is not a country, it a continent this error made it nearly impossible for you to accurately complete your week 2 research outline correctly”. In fact, Australia could be consider as a country and continent at the same time.  Ashley taking her final course to get her sociology degree so she really need this grade to graduate. She was shocked that the professor did not even check if it right or wrong. “if she’s hesitating or questioning that, why wouldn't she just Google that herself?” Ashley said. The professor did not even believe Ashley when she provide a library resource confirming that Australia is a country. After all, the professor allow to go and research by herself after Ashley sent her a link proofing that Australia is a country. Once the professor complete the research , Ashley receive a B plus for her project. However the professor did not apologize for her misunderstanding. The University have to apologize  and offer Ashley a refunded for $1000 that she spent for the course.
