Fake News are giving Hell to Social Networks

The article treats of fake news, but in the social network in general, principally in Facebook, Google and Twitter. It’s telling us that in the future , manipulation against humans with fake news and fake accounts will only get worse on the Web and that mobilisation will become stronger , where big organisations will do war, a war opposing reality to fakeness. The text also talk about automated accounts or «bots», which creates a lot of confusion and problems in social networks and that represents 15% of Twitter accounts. For example, they tell us that the company Devumi has been reported to have 3.5 millions of automated accounts all used to increase «the follower and engagement numbers of its more than 200,000 customers». The problem with these accounts is that it is them who shares fake news in most of the time and they can expand it on a very large scale, touching billion of people, pretending they are someone else. With all this, the «user trust» in social Medias has reached his five-year low.

The article is credible because it elaborates facts that I am personally able confirm by what I see everyday on the Internet, and it has also good sources, starting with the newspaper, Vanity Fair, which is well known all around the world and trustable. Add to that , the author , Maya Kosoff , a bachelorette in magazine journalism from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University
, has been published in many big newspapers like Business Insider, Slate, Inc., Entrepreneur, and she has appeared on CNBC's Closing Bell, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, and Huffington Post Live.

The article was written by Maya Kosoff, is appeared in Vanity Fair, on January 29th.
