Homelessness has been an issue in Canada for a long time and it seems to be worsening. The rise of homeless families has increased by half in the past 10 years. The article "Canada Experiencing Alarming Growth in Child Homelessness" was written by André Picard, published by the Globe and Mail on February 15 2016. The article comes from a reliable source since André Picard is well-known journalist who has been working for the globe and mail for the past 30 years and has won many prestigious journalism awards such as the Michener Award for Meritorious Public Service Journalism.

The article discusses how children who are currently homeless has been on the rise in Canada because of issues like poverty. Children who are homeless are having a hard time getting health care and education which could have a severe impact on them for the rest of their lives. Homeless youth are facing issues such as mal nutrition and having a safe environment to live. The article mentions how 1 out of 7 children are facing homelessness and how children who are homeless are more likely to face mental issues such as depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, and anxiety disorders.

Homelessness is an issue that can affect everyone, no one is completely safe from becoming homeless. Even though homelessness is a problem there are simple things that everyone can do to help end it. Donating a few dollars to organizations like Raising the Roof or Habitat for Humanity will give money to families who are struggling financially or who are homeless to help give them a chance to have a better life.
