It’s no secret that the ethical dilemma of homosexuality is an ever-growing topic of debate across the country. The movie “My Beautiful Laundrette” portrays this struggle between a Pakistani teen, Omar, and an English teen, Johnny, in London in the early 1980’s (Frears 1985). Johnny and Omar are old friends from High School who seem to have fully realized their attraction for each other. Tattooing, according to this article, is seen as negative behavior and is done by non-conformists. The article indicates that individuals get tattoos for a number of reasons including religious self-expression and having a feeling of power over one’s self and reflect self-concept.

In a recent article, independent scholar Mary Catanzaro discusses bullying, and narrows in on the hidden aggression of female teens. The so-called “popular” girls are the ones who do the major criticizing for endless reasons; the most common or petty issues light weight, socio-economic status, relationships, and appearance. Girls are more concerned about their image, thus they know where to hit the hardest; the girl with terrible self-esteem can make another girl feel exactly the same way.
