In today’s era of technology, media has become a crucial part of our lives. It surrounds us through various mediums such as TV, radio, Internet or newspaper. However, in recent years, the extent to which media permeates our lives has raised many concerns regarding the effects it has on our society. One such concern is the gender gap in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (abbreviated STEM) caused by the underrepresentation of women by the media.

In a world where medical advancements enable us to save more and more lives, a lot of people are still reluctant to offer their organs after their death to people who really need them to live. Applying a signature to the back of a health insurance card signifies that you allow doctors to harvest organs from your body in order to give them to a person in need, and I think it would be unethical to do otherwise.

It is okay for people in an enormous amount of pain to bring their lives to an end with the help of a doctor.  Sean Fine of The Globe and Mail wrote on Friday, the sixth of February 2015 the Supreme Court of Canada ruled, unanimously, that “the ‘sanctity of life’ also includes the ‘passage into death’ extends constitutional rights into a new realm”.
