Udry, Li, and Hendrickson-Smith (2003) compared the risk of behaviour and health problems in mixed-race adolescents compared to single-race adolescents. Their main hypothesis is that mixed-race adolescents are at higher risk to have health and behaviour problems than single-race adolescents because of the stress of having to find an identity. Their stress might also come from the cultural experience of their different races.

The wage gap between men and women in the workplace is an issue that has been around for decades. The issues originate from women occupations being undervalued thus getting paid less than men with “better” jobs. Currently, women have equal positions and are still being paid less than men for doing the exact same job. This is for many unjustifiable reasons. One being that women are allocated to positions within a company that are generally lower paying.

“Not only Black lives matter, ALL lives matter!” This sentence is, I believe, the most racist sentence of modern history and one should never say it if they do not know the background behind the saying “Black lives matter”. Yes, all lives matter, all living things on earth matter, everybody knows that, but it seems that not everyone knows that Black lives matter, and this why people need be reminded of that.

This Gucci ad is the perfect way to demonstrate how society views women as inferior.  The dark colours in the room and on the man contrast with the woman’s bear body. The contrast in colours exposes the female’s body making the ad extremely provocative. We can also see that in this ad the man is seen as superior just like in a patriarchal society. The man’s full body including his head is exposed where as compared to the woman, the ad only exposes her naked body, making it obvious that the man is about to take advantage of her.

The concept of race is something that we all think to know fairly well; in a given species, there are different populations because of their different features and this is what we call race. According to this simple definition, we, humans, tend to group each other as such: Whites, Blacks, Asians, Latinos, and so forth. However, the thing that most people do not know is that we cannot apply the concept of race to humans. In his article “Race Without Color”, Jared Diamond fully explains why humans should not and cannot be divided into races.
