            Climate change seems to have our undivided attention as its effects span every cultural, social, and economic reach of our earth’s populace. In a nutshell, carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere resulting from anthropogenic activity has initiated the rapidly accelerated warming of temperatures globally. We hear through the media on a regular basis, just how imperative it is that we halt the rise before it exceeds unrecoverable levels and drastic changes begin to occur in every facet of the environment.

This article was published to inform society of the overfishing that has been taking place and goes unreported not noticed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Studies were conducted by two students at the University of British Columbia and their four hundred global collaborators with the Sea Around Us project to analyze the accuracy of the FAO’s statistics on fisheries. These studies concluded that approximately fifty percent more fish are being caught than what is recorded by the FAO (Chung, 2016).

                “Easy, breezy, beautiful… CoverBoy?” This well-known slogan has been chanted by the many faces of the makeup line, CoverGirl throughout the years. Female actresses, models, singers, etc. have been plastered on various media outlets representing the face of the brand. All of the women with high defined cheekbones, perfectly lined lips, voluminous hair, long eyelashes, and a smile. But, the company has recently decided to break this gender stereotype by signing a new model with a beauty contract. This person is not a celebrity, nor a female.

Do you think women are often stereotyped in the workplace because of their gender? Do you prefer a male boss to a female boss or vice versa or does their sex not matter? Nowadays Woman have taken on major roles in the workplace. Rather than the stereotypical phrases such as “Women belong in the kitchen” Now century’s later women are bosses, doctors, teachers and so much more. Well even though times have changed, am sure there are still some men who struggles with taking orders from women. What do these men think of the fact there could be a woman president?

Sex and gender are often thought as two categories that are dependent of each other. In all reality though, sex and gender can have two sperately different answers that don't relate. In the article " BEARDS AND BODIES Doing Sex in a Gendered World" by Raine Dozier, he quotes from Lorber saying "Talking about gender for most people is equivelent of fish talking about water" meaning that gender is not a topic most people talk about. Today's society has brought about new relationships, allowing people to speak and feel free about their gender identity.

Green space is becoming less and less across the nation with the increased population and inevitable amount of construction taking place. This is something that is hard to combat as corporate power and money over shines everything. Although, some municipalities and city governments are working towards creating new greenspaces.

In North America, we are guilty for consuming more resources than required. Canada ranks in the top ten countries that consume the most water in the world. The Vancouver Sun recently released an article titled ‘Canadians rank among worlds top water hogs”.  This article serves a strong purpose in raising awareness of this issue to Canadians, specifically Vancouverites, and promoting lower consumption of water. The article offers methods of reducing water usage that other countries have employed.
