With Isis, and terrorism in general, on the rise, it is common for Americans to have fear. However, across the country muslims experience many different forms of discrimination just for being muslim which is not alright. Hakim Zainiddinov collected data from a 2011 survey to examine the prevalence and normality of discrimination among Muslim American racial and ethnic groups. Muslim Americans face a wide variety of discrimination from verbal abuse to physical threats.

In the article "Interracial Roommate Relationships: An Experimental Field Test of the Contact Hypothesis”, Russell H. Fazio and Natalie J. Shook (2008) study investigated the affect of long-term interracial relationships of dormitory roommates on naturally triggered racial attitudes. The researchers’ hypothesis on the subject is that intolerance, prejudice as well as a lack of exposure to other minorities or groups are the roots of ignorance.

Carrie’s (2014) study investigated the relationship between white students in an all-white high school and the concept of race. The researcher wanted to know how white high school students living in a suburban working-class neighborhood in the United States of America developed their social identity. She also wanted to see if the students were aware of their white privilege since the students considered themselves to be “normal”. She wanted to see if the students living in town where whiteness dominants, would be able to discuss the concept of race.

            The wage gap between men and women in the workplace is an issue that has been around for decades. The issues originate from women occupations being undervalued thus getting paid less than men with “better” jobs. Currently, women have equal positions and are still being paid less than men for doing the exact same job. This is for many unjustifiable reasons. One being that women are allocated to positions within a company that are generally lower paying.

Colin Kaepernick, 49ers quarterback, took the country by storm with his decision to kneel down during the performance of the National Anthem at the beginning of the football game in attempt to protest all of the injustices put forth by police officers and their wrongdoing by supposedly targeting African Americans and using unjustified excessive force. In TIME Magazine’s article by John Mcwhorter, people are being accused of not seeing the larger point because they do not know the real definition of patriotism.

For the past 18 years of my life, I have classify human beings into “races”. Why would I categorize people with skin color? In my opinion, it was just easier and obvious until one day I realized that human classification was a whole lot more complex than I thought. In the following text, we will see how many variables can make human classification injudicious.
