Over the past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to become acquainted with a couple churches around the South Shore and in Montreal, getting a better sense of what each is doing in order to get involved with their community and with global issues. Growing up in a Christian community, I’d sometimes felt that the church was separate from the outside world. It seemed as though there was an invisible rift between the people I would see during a Sunday service and those that would sit next to me in class; sermons and worship seemingly never intersected with real-world issues.

The issue of aboriginal abuse in Canada and the United States has been an ongoing one for many years now, and it is just recent that it has gotten more attention in the news and in the academic world.

I read an article about a case of human trafficking in Toronto. For those who read my previous posts, I already wrote multiple news summaries on this issue. In this case a 34 year old man and a 23 year old women were arrested and charged for multiple criminal offences including human trafficking. These people were accused after their 18 year old victim was able to flee and contact the authorities.

Each and every single one of us has the power to change the world. Although this is a cliche sentence, it is true. I consider myself lucky to be part of the Western World where I can live in a mostly easy way. Even though they are a lot of corrupted people and a lot of people who crave for money, there are sill those who think that the world must be changed. I believe that it is important to look up to these people and understand what they are doing for the greater good. One of these people is senator Darell Steinberg. Darell Steinberg is a Californian Democratic politician.

I believe that the human trafficking problem is a major issue. Although I already posted multiple articles summaries and I provided some detailed information, I believe that information can only be reliable when it comes from a good source.

In the article Thailand Is Losing the Fight Against Human Trafficking, published in The Huffington Post on December 2015, Matt Rusling writes that even if the Thai government has said it would try to fix the human trafficking problem, things have only been getting worse. A huge number of migrant workers go to Thailand because of the precarious economic situations in their home country.

As I was reading "Human trafficking crackdown on sex trade across Canada yields 47 people charged" from CBC news, I read a part of Timea Nagy`s story. Most of the article was stating how multiple police operatives from over 40 different police departments across Canada did 137 arrests in the field of human trafficking. The article also stipulated that 47 additional arrests were done and 20 victims were saved from inhumaine labour. "Most of the victims were under 19 years of age; some were as young as 14".

Defend Dignity is a good volunteering opportunity for those people that want to work for the equality of genders and the freedom of sex. The core values of Defend Dignity are dignity and freedom of sex, the goal of this organization is to abolish sexual exploitation within Canada. Be it the sexual exploitation of men, women or children. Right now the major project undertaken by Defend Dignity, is raising awareness to the fact that children are easily exposed to pornographic and violent sexual materials on the net.

As some of you might have heard, a Starbucks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia temporarily banished women from entering the store. A sign put on the door said: “Please no entry for ladies only send your driver to order thank you.” This has been a shock for the majority of the world and women from all around are protesting and talking about boycotting Starbucks by solidarity.

From the article: "A white man is playing Michael Jackson in a TV movie and the Internet is angry" by Justin WM. Moyer it was stated that an American actor: Joseph Fiennes, is going to play the role of Michael Jackson in a movie for British Television. The article explains how people on the internet were angry and horrified because of that. A lot of hateful responses were written on twitter that critiqued how wrong it was to take a white actor and play the role of the "King of Pop".

By reading news on the internet, I bumped into an article from Master`s graduate S.E. Cupp, a journalist for Cable National News (CNN) on presidential candidate Donald Trump. Even though Cupp is a conservative columnist, I think she is a good source for this issue. I believe her to be a good source not only for the fact that she has a Master`s degree in Arts from the New York`s University, but mainly due to the fact that she is willing to attack the head candidate of the political party for whom she is writing in the news.

From : "First Nations losing "babies" to suicide, chief says after 10-year-old dies" by Jody Porter,  Nishnawbe Aski Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler comments on the alarming rise of suicides rates within the younger people aged from 10 to 18 years old in the aboriginal communities.  Chief Fiddler and his colleagues are calling for help from the government of Ottawa, as it is now, the communities are in lack of social and mental health workers that could speak with the children and

Recently, a lot of serious problems have been happening all over the world. Do you know anything about refugees? I think the refugees’ problem is the most serious problem. I think most of the young people don’t know much about the problem. Actually, I didn’t know anything about it. That’s why I focused on the refugees from Syria, and researched about their present circumstance, so I will mention about it. And also, I will tell you about Japanese Prime Minister’s opinion and my opinion.
