Last year, at the end of October 2015, the most populous country in the world announced the end of the one-child policy. This public policy of birth control implemented by China since 1979 would henceforth allow the married couples to give birth to a second child, thing that was not recommended to do before. Intended to limit communist China’s population growth, the policy occured mainly by criminalizing parents who have more than one child or by implementing abortions and sterilizations by force.

Makayla Sault is an 11 year old  Ontario Aboriginal girl who was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia. She was given a 75 per cent chance of survival as she started chemotherapy at McMaster's Children's Hospital in Hamilton (Walker). However, due to the intensive treatments, she experienced severe side-effects. One day, she had a vision of Jesus at the hospital and, shortly after, she wrote a letter to the medical team saying that she would no longer pursue her treatments.  After 12 weeks of chemotherapy, Makayla and her family opted for traditional indigenous medicine.

Also known as an identifying integrated circuit device or RFID, it consists of a CPU in a silicate glass that is implanted in the human body to reactivate malfunctioning nerves. A lot of cultures around the world are discriminatory towards women. The oppression of a patriarchal society resulted in sex discrimination. Too often, girls get discriminated before they see the light. Sex-selective abortions, occur when a fetus has the undesired sex. All around the world, there is demographic gap of 24 million missing girls (Sex Selective Abortion). This issue is dominant in countries of Asia as in China or India.
