LGBT individuals, such as transgender people, face discrimination every day because of the societal belief of heteronormativity and cysnormativity. Transgender individuals have mental and physical health needs that make them dependent on the medical system in order to be at ease with their identity. However, they can also face discrimination and improper care when seeking help from health professionals.

In my recent articles, I’ve touched upon the issue of transgender rights, and more specifically on problems encountered when accessing health services. When writing the post “Transgender People’s Problem with Doctors”, I was surprised to see that transgender people had to face discrimination even from doctors. To feel more comfortable with themselves, it is important to support transgender people and inform them of options they have concerning surgeries or hormone treatments.

The article that I chose mainly focused on bullying in Irish school systems and how cyberbullying is a new obstacle for school management and conducted research on how they can begin to put policies in place to help prevent cyberbullying. The article mentions how since the 1970’s research data has been collected and since then there has been a lot of data taken in regards to individual differences and aggression held toward defining features and sub-types. More importantly this data is being used to determine methods on how to help get rid of bullying and even cyberbullying for good.

Race, being a human social construct to put people in categories because of one’s characteristics and traits, is an important factor when determining who to interact with. In Interracial and Intraracial Contact, School Level Diversity, and Change in Racial Identity Status Among African American Adolescents, Yip, Seaton, & Sellers (2010) performed a study with 224 African American adolescents over a 3 year period in school level diversity. This research mainly shows how interaction can change a person’s view on another’s racial identity.

This article shows the correlations between substance abuse and homelessness. It also shows how these both are affected by income, human capital, mental health, and social support.

There are many things that he states and shows that can lead you to believe how they have negatively effected society. Mainly in baseball PED's or Performance Enhancing Drugs have changed the way the game is played just for them to become one of the elite players. Verducci also focuses on what goes through the mind of a player using the drugs and what provoked them to begin using them.

The rate of successful marriage has declined over the years and many don't know why. Could observing gay and lesbian marriages help us understand why straight marriages are failing and help stop the rate of divorce?

In today’s society, we’ve grown accustomed to embrace differences, from cultural to geographical differences we learn and embrace new things every day. However, when we think of athletes the general image is of someone who is fierce, determined, and willing to do anything to win. Why would that thought or image changes once an athlete openly says that he/she is gay?

The competitiveness in sports has significantly increased over the years. What has also increased in sports is the physical toughness, the physical preparation, and the desire to be the best of all athletes around the globe. However, there is one object that stood the test of time, and is now haunting players and killing sports as we know them, and that substance is called PEDS (also known as Performance Enhancing Drugs).

Free wireless Wi-Fi networks are almost everywhere nowadays. It would appear banal to connect to a free and public network with a decent name, but it can bounce to something much less legitimate. These fake "hotspot" are frequent and will often prompt those who connect by requiring them to enter their username and password on an interface designed to replicate popular websites like Facebook. Obviously this interface does not log into the said website, but rather sends the credentials to the host for malicious usage.
