Fish populations have become a matter for concern. With increasing numbers in fish consumption, there may not be as many fish left in the sea as we thought.
The article “How the world’s oceans could be running out of fish,” by Gaia Vince, addresses the urgent need to restore the fish stocks that are quickly depleting due to overexploitation. “Around 85% of global fish stocks are over-exploited, depleted, fully exploited or in recovery from exploitation” (Vince, 2012, par. 3). This depletion in fish stocks can have consequences on both marine life and humans.
