As the first ever major dam is being finished in Ethiopia on the Blue Nile, Egypt is becoming increasingly more concerned with its own survival. For centuries Egypt has been dependent on the Nile River as a drinkable water supply (providing 90 percent of Egypt’s water supply) and for sustaining its agriculture industry. The main issue here, is that there is no clear understanding of the effects the dam will actually have on the water supply below it.
