There are many angles to looking at why we obey the law. We recognize the authority law has and we tend to follow it. Laws change depending on where you go, who your family is, and what part of a country or state you live in. There are four theories to why we obey the law, consent, gratitude, fair play, and associative obligation. All these theories offer a different outlook on why we obey the law, and why we find authority in it.
