The issue I chose for my research paper is cyber bullying. This issue happen when a person is bullying another person by using the internet. We can see different type of bullying in our society like verbal bullying. But I choose the cyber bullying because this type has increase with the internet’s technology in recent years. It is a major problem that our society faces. With this new technology people can interact with each other on website. It has positive effects on social interaction but has also negative impacts. The issue of this is that some people do not use it adequately.

There was a time when the equality between men and Women was just not existing. Everybody knows that! but today… Even if there is just a really thin line between boys any girls, it is still there. It may not be bad at some points, but at some other it can lead to some specific issues. For example if a girl wants to play football and there are no girl team, she may not be allowed to play in the boys team…

It is inked in our minds that most of sports are for men and those who are being tagged “women sport” cannot be practiced by men without being judged. On the other side, it is the same thing for women who enjoy playing a “men sport”. In these articles I learned a lot about gender stereotypes in the world of sports. What is interesting is that many examples and lived experiences are given.

It often happens that people are decreasing therapies not provided by experts such as psychologists and psychotherapists, but apparently “sport therapies” are working for some people. Billy Pagonis and Ed Kiwa-Quinlan can relate to this very well because they all have been through different kind of struggles and the Street Soccer Canada team helped them deal with it.

When I saw the title of the article, which is “Paraplegic mum goes duct-taped surfing on South Australia’s West coast” I thought “No! This can’t be true!” Actually it is true and some pictures are included to the article. Pascale Honore is 50 years old and paraplegic and she goes surfing with Tyron Swan a 23 years old surfer and diver.

We all know synchronized swimming is a beautiful sport, when we look at this we’re all amazed by the talent these girls have and their sparkling costume and makeup. As you probably already noticed that, no boys are competing at the Olympics in this sport. According to this article, when synchronized swimming started, everybody thought this could only be a girl sport because it looked simple and beautiful. However, it is not as easy as it seems and some guys would enjoy competing as a male synchronized team at the Olympics.

Across the globe, there are numerous amounts of athletes who use drugs. Some use the drugs to increase their performance level, to hide their injuries, or to relax. The usage of drugs has always been a part of sports and there’s a big fight against the usage of drugs in competitions. For whatever reason an athlete might consume a drug, it is obvious that it is bad. It goes against the religion of sports and it’s harming for their own heath.

Have you ever asked yourself how and when the Olympic Games all stared? This may be to your surprise but the Olympic Games know nationwide started 3000 years ago. They first started in Greece in honor of the famous god Zeus. Greek citizens gathered together every four years to celebrate with sports events. The name Olympics come from a site names Olympia near the Peloponnese peninsula which was the location of the first ever Olympic games.

Swimming has lots of benefits. I always been told this sport was good for muscles and the cardiovascular system, and this is pretty much what I read in this article, but what we have to know is that swimming may not be good as much as we think. Sure it is a great sport to practice but we tend to think is better then what it really is. Basically, it says that because the body is in a horizontal position, it gets a new physiological challenge. This has been proven by some studies; swimming, when practiced on a regular basis reduces risks of diabetes.

We all know that kids have to be active and they most play outside and practice sports or else, lots of massive consequences could occur such as obesity. Obviously, sports seem to be a better option for children. The point is we have to be careful with that, or maybe tell kids to be careful and warn them about the fact that sports can also leads to some health issues. According to Kate Carr, president of Safe Kids Worldwide, there are too many kids getting hurt while practicing a sport.

America, what a nice country. As long as you have money, you have a good life. Even if America lies and hides information from you, you still love her. But what if I told you that America nearly dropped a nuclear bomb over North Carolina, back in the 60’s? Would you still love her like you did?

You may have heard of it, the collision between a passenger train and a city bus in Ottawa and you also may have heard all the questioning about that accident. People are asking questions and writing sympathy comments on the Internet.   Obviously, people are right to do what they do; they actually show the victims and victim’s family and friends that they really care. Also, by asking questions, for example: « What happened to the bus driver? Why didn’t he stop when he saw the train? » We can see people’s worries about that tragic accident.

What we were sure about was that a comatose patient who had a flat EEG (electroencephalogram) line had a dead brain. But nowadays, it seems like a flat line didn’t meant a completely dead brain.

I personally have back pain and more specifically a lumbar sprain, so when I saw an article giving five tips to have a better posture, I automatically clicked on the link. I know my posture is always bad and when I try to maintain a good position, I always fail at it because I forget to keep my back straight. But I know I’m not the only one having posture or back troubles so that’s why I recommend reading this article.  Even if you think your posture is good, you could be surprised!

Politicians have been talking about other Politian group since forever. They always try to tear down their opposition. But as a matter of fact, we never hear them talking about their own projects and point of view about critical subject.

As a student thinking about her future, but mostly trying to plan or anticipate it, I really enjoyed reading this article. Actually, I think the word “enjoyed” isn’t that accurate. What I mean is that, what read in this article was “good to know”, but a little bit disappointing.

Okay, so here is an article where I actually learned something really useful: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-drive/car-tips/why-cant-i-drive-in-the-left-lane-in-quebec/article14086224/. Honestly, I didn’t know Quebec was the only province of Canada where the left lane is considered as the “pass lane”. Apparently, in Ontario and mostly anywhere else in Canada, you can drive in the left lane at any time.

Nothing can be perfect and we all know that, even nowadays, there are still tones of things to improve. I’m talking in worldwide way. Democratic systems aren’t well established everywhere on the planet, as well as genders equality, gay marriages, religions tolerance and health caring systems. The weird thing is that, apparently, pirates, back in the 16th century were really familiar to those things. Believe it or not!

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one asking myself “Do I make a difference in this world?” and “How do I make a difference?” Sometimes I tell myself that we all make a difference in our own way. The thing is, sometimes it cant be a great change, but obviously, sometimes changes can be bad… But now let’s talk about the great changes. Making a difference can be as easy as helping an old man carrying is grocery bags, giving someone the best advices you have or doing volunteering.
