A subject on the rise in the last few years and the cause of many debates is the question of whether or not meat is good for you. Reader's Digest's expert Chris Woolston wrote an article on the matter and gathered some factual information from different reports and studies in order to bring some clarity on the topic.

A four day workweek may seem glamourous. An entire extra day to yourself sounds amazing, but in reality, it poses a serious threat on your physical and mental health.

In my latest project, I studied what are the problems in our everyday lives that keep us from going forward in the gender equality matter. I looked at impartial articles on gender studies, men's studies and sociology to find the general causes of gender inequality in our social environment and found out that the major factors in that issue were that women are expected to work a double shift of work when they get home because of gender role. Also gender generalization in our society prevents us from being equal with everybody who doesn't fit the mold our society puts them into.

The issue of aboriginal abuse in Canada and the United States has been an ongoing one for many years now, and it is just recent that it has gotten more attention in the news and in the academic world.

Emma Watson's speech at the UN meeting in September 2014 was a great step for the HE for SHE movement. She shared with the rest of the world how our society needs men and women to work together if we want to get rid of gender discrimination. She uses her position of public figure and the fact that she is mediatised a lot to reach the masses and send a message to the population to raise awareness about gender discrimination and equality.

As I've said in many earlier articles and more specifically in my last one called ''Causes of Stress in a College Student's Life'',  stress is a growing issue in our 21st century North American society and  especially when it comes to young adults. They are expected to go to college so they can get a good job later and when they make it there, the pressure they endure is sky high. Not only they have to upgrade their study methods and work harder than they ever did, they have to leave the family house and adapt to a completely new lifestyle. No wonder why they are crumbling under pressure.

Alan Reifman, Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Texas Tech University, posted an interesting article about the sources of stress in a college student's life. As of October 1st of 2011, the post called ''Stress in College Students'' provides interesting facts about which types of students are the most stressed and where that stress comes from. For example, African Americans on campus are the most stressed out class of students due to pressure from their peers and the society.

As a student who is facing the stress of living by himself and being in college, I was really disappointed to find out that there is no organization in the area that comes in help to students who suffer from anxiety and stress. However, I have found many organization that even though they are not specialized in helping students in need, offer their services to everybody. One that fits best what I wanted to do my research about and seems to be more approachable to those who want to do some volunteerism is the G.E.M.E. Mutual Aid Group.

Stress is everywhere. We often see it with people who work too much or have financial problems, but since a couple years students have emerged as the group who is suffering the most from stress. The report Lower Saint-Lawrence: the end of semester, source of stress of Réjean Desmeules from Radio Canada shows how students from here are affected by anxiety and depression.

South Korea’s schools are killing their students. Physical and psychological issues are hitting the learners in an exaggerated overwhelming way. For instance, the article “The Assault Upon our Children” by See-Wong Koo directly says: “Among young South Koreans who confessed to feeling suicidal in 2010, an alarming 53 percent identified inadequate academic performance as the main reason for such thoughts.” Koreans might be part of the smartest kids in the world by belonging to the class that has among the highest ranks on international education tests.

We already know that football is a very physical sport and that it is the cause of many injuries, but the growing subject is actually about the death of high school football players. That is what Kristina Marusic shares with us, reporting that from the beginning of September 2015 to October 5th not less than four of these athletes died from injuries suffered during a football game, one actually dying on the field.

On February first, seventeen defenseless kangaroos were brutally murdered on a road in the eastern city of Brisbane. They have been found on the road in a distance of 100 meters long.  The carcasses of 16 kangaroos were found dead this Monday, said Michael Beatty, who works for the Royal Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). There was also one other kangaroo suffering of severe injuries, and has been euthanized. A lot of those creatures were young, Beatty said. He also is certain that the animals were run over on purpose.

On December 3rd 2015, Maurice Peebles, Deputy Editor of Complex Sport, published an interview he had with Jay Bilas* concerning why student athletes performing in Division I schools should be paid. Mr. Bilas, a strong defender of NCAA athletes’ rights, highlights the fact that students who play sport for their school are the only ones being restricted in their actions and expenses.

By reading news on the internet, I bumped into an article from Master`s graduate S.E. Cupp, a journalist for Cable National News (CNN) on presidential candidate Donald Trump. Even though Cupp is a conservative columnist, I think she is a good source for this issue. I believe her to be a good source not only for the fact that she has a Master`s degree in Arts from the New York`s University, but mainly due to the fact that she is willing to attack the head candidate of the political party for whom she is writing in the news.

An article published on the website of Forbes's magazine reveals a new study made by researchers from the Boston University School of Medicine showing that ex-NFL players who started to play football before 12 years old performed around 20% worse in a battery of tests (such as remembering words and making decisions) than those who started after the age of 12. Some say that the sample of 42 former athletes is too small to conclude that those who play football at a younger age are more at risk of cognitive impairment later in their life and even if Dr.

An article published by ABC News, the 26th of July, explains the risks of playing football. The American football is a popular sport in the North America, but there’s debate about the risks of teenagers playing it. That’s what ABC News shows it their article. They pretend that a research in the United States on 100 high schools and 55 colleges (we don’t have much information about that research), found out that 517,726 injuries in the database caused only in a season. That’s incredible! And let’s not forget that there might be even more.

2.6 million years ago, the first major evolutionary change in the human diet happened. The arrived of meat in our daily intake of food had many consequences for the evolution of our species. First, humans were eating meat to survive when other resources were not easily available (example, in the winter). Meat was providing them a good source of energy. Time passed and meat became the major part of our plate, making the vegetables and others the "side-dishes". Meat became a symbol of wealth, where eating flesh of animal was considered as a privilege that not everyone could afford.

114.4 million viewers. Solely in the United States did this exorbitant number watch the Super Bowl on February 2015, an audience that surpassed any show in the country’s history, including the previous Super Bowl games (Bieler). Yet, football is only part of the entertainment. Indeed, the renowned singer Katy Perry diverted the spectators through extravagant representations of her hit-songs during the half-time show, accompanied by Lenny Kravitz and rapper Missy Elliot. However, the show does not cease during the commercials.
