Fortunately, there have been recent global trends to combat the menace that is climate change—including improvements for environmentally-friendly products and the gradual abandonment of environment-damaging processes.

Cigarette: slaying with its third-hand smoke


Cigarettes are more harmful then what we thought and that is already surprising! It’s well known how cigarettes have a poisonous effect in health as the damages it provokes include blood vessels, reproductive organs, mouth, lungs, heart, and many other organs. Certainly, the number of deaths caused by smoking cigarettes is higher than alcohol in many countries. Though, not only its first-hand smoke kills, its second-hand smoke can be very dangerous causing the same number of diseases. But how is this a new discovery? These effects have been known for a while.

Objectification is Not a Game

In this advertisement for the portable gaming system called the PlayStation Vita, a faceless woman is shown to have two sets of breasts, one on her front and one on her back. The tag line, “touch both sides for added enjoyment,” is written in a small minimalist font and is positioned in the bottom right corner. Unsurprisingly, the poster focuses on the provocatively clothed woman and not on the advertised product.

On January 27th, 2016, an article published by The Canadian Press shed light on a little-known web page named Shodan. The site serves as both a search engine and a database of connected computers and devices from around the world. Essentially, Shodan gives the average Joe access to all forms of video and audio feeds that don’t require usernames or passwords.

Do you ever text and walk?


Melissa Dahl, author of the article “Texters can’t walk in a straight line, study shows” published January 22, 2014 informs us of a new problem, texting and walking. A new study has shown that texting on your phone while walking actually changes someone demeanor, it causes people to walk slower and also making it harder to walk in a straight line. Some Australian researchers filmed 26 men walk while texting and once walking normally.
