Controlling Ash Borer Populations

The Emerald Ash Borer, an invasive species of beetle that targets ash trees, has become an increasingly prevalent problem in Southwestern Ontario over the past several years. Because of the pest’s high virulence and the significance of ash trees in Ontario’s ecosystems, natural resource managers are concerned about how costly it will be to try and control the spread of the beetle, or to even simply manage the dead and dying trees left in it’s wake.
