The names of these unarmed black individuals whose lives have been taken away by police can go on for much longer. Every friend, family and loved one of these people would bow their head in grief. While the reasons of their deaths cannot be reversed, a path can be set so that we can avoid future altercations in order to make the streets of America safe. Yet despite past events, the death toll continues to rise.

After nine seasons of content, which capped off in 2002, “baited breath” was the motto as everyone impatiently awaited the return of their favorite myth-busting duo. And though this revival brings the beloved 90s series into the modern era, it seems that FOX was less than eager to extend the same courtesy to leading lady Gillian Anderson.

In Nigeria, a new law was passed on January 7, 2014 stating that “a person who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies or organizations, or directly or indirectly makes public show of same sex amorous relationship in Nigeria commits an offense and is liable on conviction to a term of 10 years,” (The Associated Press, 2014).

A student from Harvard University, named Latanya Sweeney, has done research on the racist aspect of Google.  According to Andrew Leonard, Latanya Sweeney was surfing the web when she decided to search her name up on Google. She was shocked with the results.

Death Penalty: Justice or Just Wrong?

     The death penalty is a form of punishment that has caused immense, worldwide controversy. Do capital crimes require the death sentence? Moral values, religious views, and political ideals have caused a split of opinions regarding this question. Supporters of the death penalty believe that murderers deserve to die for their crimes, as well as for inflicting pain on the victims’ families. Is revenge the answer? If our society bases its laws on revenge, then we are more likely to live in a world of hate and destruction.
