In the article published by The Guardian, the author reports that members of congress have asked for a federal investigation of ExxonMobil. It was discovered that ExxonMobil scientists validated that climate change is exacerbated from fossil fuel burning, and Exxon continued to deny their contribution anyways. There is precedent in anti-racketeering laws from a previous case of tobacco companies spreading false information about the health effects of their products. Now the question is whether or not climate change can be considered for the same type of case.
