In an attempt to increase voter registration, Maryland has been endorsing a new online-registration system (Sallie, 2012). Military personal overseas and voters without a license will easily be able to register. The project cost under $5,000 and is believed to be very popular.
There are many reasons why American’s do not vote. Some do not know how to register or do not feel like going out to do so. However, now that it is available to register to vote online a citizen can do it from the comfort of their own home. This could increase the number of young voters because the young generation does almost everything through the internet.
