Gun Control Is bad

Gun Control is overly restricted in a majority of states. Gun control does nothing but prevent criminals from obtaining weapons. The Second Amendment of the U.S. constitution states, “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Obama has been working for three years with anti-gun activists and if he is re-elected he plans on removing the Second Amendment. Guns and weapons prevented invasion, help declare independence; provide safety for many Americans and self-defense. Deaths cause by guns is 12,791. Out of that number 5% of the deaths were cause by licenses gun owners. That being said the rest of the homicides were cause by criminals who do not have legal rights to own a gun. Gun control wouldn’t fix the problem of gun related crimes because 95% of gun related crimes are from people who don’t have a license to own a gun. It takes about three years after applying for a gun license to get one. In the process they do a history check and a background check to make sure a person is capable of acquiring a weapon. 27% of applicants are revoked or cancelled, meaning they cannot get a license in New York State. 42% of American households are reported to own guns judging by registration records. Isoroku Yamamoto, the naval commander that led the attack on Pearl Harbor he knew that almost every American has a gun. "You cannot invade mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass," says Yamamtota. Gun control would not affect the amount of crimes committed by guns it would just make it harder for those who want the self-protection to have one.
