Most people find it stupid, but track and field is actually the most social sport on earth. It can bring the world together like no other sport can. The sport is exciting when you get into it, and causes people to have a great deal of respect for what the athletes are doing. Track is one of the most social sports there is, and the whole world can appreciate it.
Do you remember when you were a kid, and you and your friends used to race everywhere? So does everyone else. It is the simplest thing you could possibly do, and yet people enjoy doing it. The feeling of competition you get when you beat someone for a person of competitive nature is incomparable. The best part about it is that anyone, anywhere in the world can do it. Football is only played in America. Hockey needs ice. Basketball needs a ball and a hoop. But the only thing required for running is a pair of working legs. Little kids and adults everywhere can race each other. It is a sport that spans all ages, races, genders, and economic status.
Track and field athletes are some of the most athletic people there are. The sport combines all the elements of athleticism: speed, strength, stamina, agility, and power. Contrary to popular belief, it also contains a great deal of finesse as well. To the average viewer it might look like they are just running around a big oval, but once a person comes to appreciate the sport, they know how talented and how hard these athletes work and know how impressive it is that they are able to do the things that they do. The amount of hard work and dedication that professional track and field athletes put in is off the charts. There are no off days for these athletes. They have to run, and lift weights, and watch what they eat and what time they go to bed every single day. If the average person steps onto a track and times themselves, they will see just how spectacular it is what these human beings can do.
Anyone in the world can compete in the sport of track and field, whether it is formal or not. It is a sport that dates back to ancient Rome, and is one of the oldest and most celebrated events in the Olympics. Track and field knows no discrimination, and can be enjoyed and appreciated by all. It is simple and anyone can be a participant, and that is why Track and Field is the greatest and most social sport on earth.
