The Open Door, which was founded in 1988, is an Anglican drop-in centre that is dedicated to helping homeless and low-income people in Montreal. The purpose of this organization according to their website  is “[t]o share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ through the operation of a drop-in centre that provides food, friendship and counsel to those in need”. Another important goal is to help their clients reintegrate society. The Open Door’s major project for the next year is basically to continue to provide services to the homeless of Montreal by “meeting their immediate needs […] building up their self worth […] and facilitating their reintegration into society”. Volunteer opportunities with this organization consist of helping out at the drop-in centre. For instance, they always need people to help prepare and serve the meals during breakfast and lunch. They also need people in their laundry room to help out. Another way you can support this organization is by donating money or items that are in need such as warm clothes, food, toiletries, etc…. If you wish to volunteer for this organization, you can do so by contacting the director Caleb Clark by e-mail (caleb@opendoortoday.org) or calling at (514) 939-1970.
