Life Support, On or Off?

In Texas, a brain dead, pregnant woman is taken off life support. This issue was made very public by many. Marlise Munoz was said to be brain dead in the month of November and was kept on life support for the life of her fetus. She was taken off life support not to long after, at that point the fetus was 28 weeks. This was the judges’ decision to take her off life support and because of this much discussion came about abortion and end of life decisions linked to this case. This case lead people to think that maybe Texas would change the laws but it’s unclear if anything will happen. Groups that are against abortion tried to fight to save and deliver the baby, which didn’t turn out to be a success. This situation corresponds with Texas’ act, "A person may not withdraw or withhold life-sustaining treatment under this subchapter from a pregnant patient." The life of the unborn child was involved which brings the law to new levels. Was this the right thing to do or was it wrong? Many differ in their opinion to this question. Some may say this is abortion and killing a life that had no say in the decision, others may agree to the decision to take her off life support because it’s what Marlise wanted. Now the question is will the laws change.
