Bell’s “Let’s Talk” is a worldwide conversation that takes place online, concerning mental health issues and raising awareness on the subject. This Tuesday was the fourth annual event where we saw a total of 109,451,719 tweets, Facebook shares, texts and calls that were made. On Twitter, it was marked the number one trend in Canada and number three worldwide with over three million tweets sent throughout the day accompanying the hashtag “#BellLetsTalk”. Even political leaders and celebrities were tweeting. People like Stephen Harper, Justin Trudeau, Ellen Degeneres, etc. With every tweet and every message sent, Bell Canada donates five cents to Canadian mental health programs, bringing the total to $5,472,586 this year. That number is absolutely amazing! It’s comforting to know that so many people out there do care about mental health issues and want to take action in defeating them. It’s nice to see that this amount of money is being used for a good cause.
