The Future of Employment for Students & the Future of Technology

For my final project, I was able to have the opportunity to speak with Diana Mihaela Baranga the Co-Founder of UpStartED, which is a company hosting the first Youth2Tech Conference held in Montreal. It is designed to introduce youth to the future. The conference will present how technology is shaping the new economy. This conference I feel will fit into what I have been researching during this class which is the issue of employment and how it has been affected as well as how it has been changing. My volunteering during this conference is to attend the conference, the workshops, and all the activities that will be happening throughout the weekend. My goals are to observe the conference as a whole and meet with Diana afterward in order to give a full review, like a mystery shopper. I plan to prepare questions before the conferences to have a good understanding what I should be looking for there. Also, I plan to come in with questions to see if the conference answers them, such as by attending this conference will it help a student find a real job with the decreasing amount of jobs and will it help the students pick a degree, where when they graduate that they will find a job? The conference will be held November 11, 2017, to November 12, 2017, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. It will be located at Lower Canada College (LCC), the address is 4090 Avenue Royal, Montréal, QC H4A 2M5. Diana gave me the opportunity to post my review on their blog as well to receive feedback and other comments from people who had attended as well. My final post will be focused on three things; the review of the conference as a student is the conference answering my questions about employment and was the conference effective in informing students about their future.
