In Dennis Dimick’s article “As World’s Population Booms, Will Its Resources Be Enough”, we are brought into the light of the impacts that our increased growth population has brought on to our planet as well as the people living on it. In the article, Dimick gives different theories for what could become of our population in the next hundred years, with one theory marking us down for our population to increase more then 11 billion by 2100.

            This article written by Damian Carrington suggests that this increase in population is far from over and that nations will face severe challenges in regard to food supplies, healthcare and social cohesion. The author questions the assertion that the world population will peak at 9 billion people in 2050 and put forwards new studies that show that the world population will grow faster and reach 11 billion in 2100.

Around half of the United States is in the midst of a drought, some places it is very severe, which will have serious detrimental effects on the business, agriculture and wildlife across the country. Grace Wyler a writer for Business Insider wrote an article discussing the drought and how it may be more severe than previously thought based off a study done by the Columbia University Water Center.
