In the article "How Many People is Too Many People" by Hannah Geis, the author is very concerned about too many people on our Planet and thinks of solutions to this threat. She explores the problems facing world population and how we can ensure that our resources do not dwindle as our population expands.  Population growth is the increase in the number of people in a region and is occurring at all times all around the world. Population growth can have both positive and negative effects on countries, regions, and even the world.

According to the article “Population Growth Puts Dent in Natural Resources”, population growth will exhaust all the natural resources. One of them will be water and energy. And since only the USA has 305 million people from 6,7 billion, it should be taking seriously to take action towards this critical situation. Criss is one of the researches that is working with his associates to combine as much data on the environment.  Due to his research, he found that around 150 million Americans use nonrenewable ground water everyday. Which leads to low level of ground water in other places.

     The purpose of the Dennis Dimick’s article; “As World’s Population Booms, Will Its Resources Be Enough for Us?” in the National Geographic was to bring to light the current and future issues relating to our populations increasing growth rates, our consumption increase, the factors behind these issues and viable solutions.

Is Denmark's Renewable Energy Agreement Flawed?

A digital english news publisher, The Local Denmark, published the article "Danish government could end “one-fifth” behind green energy target" in march of 2017 analising their governments projection to reach 50% renewable enregy by 2030. The artcile discusses how the country of Denmark had set a projection in which half of the energy consumed or used in the country would be reewable, however the author cites a Danish news agency Energistyrelsen who claim that only 80 % of their goal will be rached unless a more drastic approach is taken.

Availability of Water

This article by “the American Institute of Biological Sciences”, talks about how water is becoming a scarce resource. As humans, we use a lot of water, to bathe, wash clothes and dishes, for production of food. Etc. However, even though water is considered to be a renewable resource because of rainfall, our over use of its availability leads to water shortages. This article stresses that the high demand for water can threaten biodiversity as well as basic human needs such as food production and drinking clean water.

In the article “As World’s Population Booms, Will Its Resources Be Enough for Us?” you’ll read about the relation between the population and the resources available. The question that is look at in this article is how much more people can the Earth support. This article talks about a lot of predictions and theories like the ones made by Thomas Malthus because it is believed that eventually, the Earth won’t be able to support his population. Scientists start to believe Malthus was right when he said that we grow more rapidly than we grow food because we consume so much for only one person.

The United Kingdom sends most of its wastes to recycling countries such as China. In the year, they have sent over 800,000 tonnes of waste to be recycled. In the year 2018, China has finally refused to accept any more foreign wastes leaving the UK in a conundrum of what to do with the waste they can no longer send to China. Two options remain open to them: Burning or Burying. 

 

Is Distributed Energy Resources better than Regionalization?

The article “Local Balancing Is the Key to California’s Clean Energy Future. Regionalization Isn’t” by Doug Karpa informs the reader about the state of California’s renewable energy setup. The author recommends using an energy system that will support the state of California in the future. This system would include local energy, modern grid operations and backyards resources. In the article, it is also suggested that distributed energy resources are more recommended than regionalization energy systems.
