Endangered Species in Africa

Many animals and plants are on the list of endangered species, in fact, more than 15 000 thousands. By definition, endangered means that something is threatened with extinction, loss, destruction or exposed to a danger. Hence, it is easy to understand that it is not wanted to obtain a statistic like the one above for this situation. Unfortunately, animals in Africa are omnipresent on that list.  Although there are a lot of reasons that can lead to the death of theses animals, there are solutions installed to solve the issue.

Girls' Education

Equal education is something that is really important in today’s world. As well as being a basic human right, education is the key to health and economic improvement. It also provides everyone the ability to read, write and to better understand the world that surrounds them. Everybody should have access to the right of learning and of developing their abilities to the maximum. Unfortunately, the lack of equality in today’s world prevents certain people from going to school. Indeed, girls in many underdeveloped countries do not have access to a good education.

Deforestation, A Major Issue On our Planet

Deforestation may not be a problem for humans in short term, in fact they destroy forests to benefit themselves. Logging provides the means and supplies to create a number of things that man uses in this world. And taking all these trees down also provides the necessary space and areas to build more and more houses, factories, stores, railroads and highways. These three websites show the dangers and repercussions of deforestation.

The Common Book That Became The Rare Book

So I ended up with a very small book, with the dimensions of around 3x5 inches and weighed approximately 1 pound, by Culpepper published in 1751 titled, “Complete and Experienced Midwife.” This book was probably used by lower-classed midwifes during the 18th century as a guide to child bearing and proper remedies for the diseases. At first glance of the book, the cover is made from leather and is probably the original cover, since the cover seems to used and scuffed with marks.

Silent Seas

The oceans are in trouble because noise is being drowned out. I recently read an article about how CO2 emissions are being rapidly absorbed by the ocean and this is increasing ocean acidification. This is causing a lot of trouble in the ocean because many ocean creatures use sound to find mates, locate the reefs and find food but ocean acidification is making this difficult. One creature is a small snapping shrimp, called pistol shrimp; they live in the coral reefs and snap their claws to communicate.

Raising awareness for Haitians adversely effected by Hurricane Matthew

There is not debate as to whether or not we are experiencing dramatic changes in climate around the world. Some places experience the adverse effects of climate change more than others, and unfortunately for the people of Haiti, they are dealing with a dramatic climatic event for the second time in a decade.

No More Green Energy for Ontario

English

The article titled “Ontario government scraps plan for $3.8 billion in renewable energy projects” reports on the recent decision of the Ontario provincial government to suspend the Large Renewable Procurement Program (LRP II). The program planned to build a wind and solar development worth $3.8 billion dollars in green energy, but it was announced Tuesday September 27 that these plans have been cancelled.

Natural Disasters

In the article “Hurricane Matthew death toll spikes to more than 280; Haiti devastated”, Pierre Richard Luxama and David Mcfadden discuss the extreme impact that Hurricane Matthew has caused thus far.
