A wonderful organization, located in the center of Montreal, offers help to survivors of sexualt assaults.  The organization is called SACCOMS, Sexual Assault Centre of the McGill Students' Society.

Sexual Assault may happen frequently but it is often underreported because of feelings of shame, fear of not being taken seriously or the journey of prosecuting the attacker is too long and arduous for the assault survivor to experience.

The SACCOMS has four branches for volunteers to participate in: the drop-in and line (DIAL), support groups, advocacy, and outreach.  A volunteer may be able to participate in more than one branch of the centre at a time but a volunteer must commit to at least three hours of volunteering per week. Training for the different branches begin at the beginning of each semester.  It is not required of each volunteer to be a student at McGill University.

Contact Information For Each Branch are as Follows:

Drop-In and Line (DIAL):  dial@sacomss.org    (514) 398-8500
