by TL13 on March 9, 2015 - 8:20pm
The Defi sportif Altergo is a non-profit international organization that holds a 7-day event in Montreal, Longueil and Boucherville every year for athletes worldwide with disabilities; their goal is to "promote access to leisure, sports and culture" to these people. About 5,000 athletes compete every year, all coming from about 20 different countries. This organization is world unique and it has been founded in 1984. There are 14 different sports, with seven competition venues in the cities mentioned earlier.
“This organization contributes to spreading the notion of universal accessibility, and promotes the practice of high-level sports and the development of school level sports.”
