Some people think of famine and poverty as problems by which places like Canada or Quebec aren’t affected. However, thousands of people are not getting the nutrition that they need.
Moisson Rive-Sud (website) is an organization that fights famine everyday. They are the biggest food bank in Monteregie. They supply other organization with food that they can then send to people in need. They work with local producers and agri-food companies like Metro, Super C, Loblaws, Provigo, Maxi, Sobey’s, and IGA that provide them with any extra commodities, which also helps ensure the durability of the planet. They not only fight famine but waste as well. Their values are Mutual Aid, Quality, Integrity, and Passion. If you wish to volunteer with this South-Shore based organization, contact them by phone at 450 641-1895 or by email at email@example.com. They do not accept walk-in volunteers meaning an appointment is necessary, however once you get one, go to 1356, Volta street in Boucherville. If finding the time to volunteer hard with you schedule, you can donate to their foundation here: http://www.moissonrivesud.org/simpliquer/faire-un-don/.
