Greenpeace is an independent organization founded in 1971 in Vancouver, Canada. Its goal is to protect the environment and the biodiversity while promoting peace and advocating the cessation of nuclear threats. It has been a big voice in the environment for a long time, and still is. Its members are running a campaign to help endangered whales. That’s not their only project. They divide them in four sections: Arctic, Climate and Energy, Forests, and Oceans. They have many projects in each, like stopping oil and gas projects in the Arctic, or stopping seismic cannons from blasting in Clyde River. Greenpeace needs volunteer to accomplish their goals. They have local groups in different cities across Canada that can offer opportunities. You can also help by “banner-drop[ping] and [using] non-violent direct actions.” They maintain a calendar of events on their website. You can contact them on their phone number 1-800-320-7183, on their e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or at their office in Montreal (454 Laurier East Avenue, Montreal, QC, H2J 1E7).
