Donald Trump Threatening Human Rights

The American Presidential election of 2016 shed light to the businessman Donald J. Trump’s real value and intentions. Most people called him racist and misogynists although, on November 8, 2016, he was elected President of the United States. One of the reasons for his election was his view on Muslims and terrorism.
The newly elected President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, poses a threat to human rights in American soil as well as abroad. The xenophobic and racist businessman vows to Americans to protect them against terrorism by banning entry from Muslim countries or deported any illegal immigrant found in America. This ban created a wave of xenophobia and violent acts targeting Muslims on American soil. This action undertaken by President Trump violated 11 articles of the Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations (article 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 & 20). American justice court deemed the travel ban unconstitutional yet; Donald J. Trump vowed to his people that some actions would be taken against terrorists (Lander par. 5). President Trump even revealed to be in favour of methods of torture even after being told of their inefficacy by his defense secretary Gen. James N. Mattis (Lander par. 5). Trump’s xenophobia and installed travel ban goes against Humanistic views. Since the ban forbid American citizens from traveling to Muslim countries based on the bias that they might be terrorists. It is not compassionate and threatens the security of Muslims, who are equal human being as any American.
I find it is an important topic because it creates on racism in America, which often ends violent altercations. If not addressed, the situation can develop into a civil war between xenophobic and tolerant citizens. The rise of one bad leader influence many armed Americans who can one day turn around a start a massacre in order to make “America Great Again.” The travel ban also blocks refugees of war zone a safe haven in America therefore it affects not only America but also everyone.
As can be seen Donald J. Trump and his radical views are threatening the lives of millions, Americans and foreign. Many human groups are afraid of the repercussion of his actions on visible minority groups. On numerous occasions, Trump’s policies interfere and violate articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations. Could it be possible to be worse than Trump?
