When Emmanuel Jal escaped from the rebel army along with 400 others, many began to starve to death. If you were in his shoes and faced with starvation, what means would you have taken to survive?
I never suffered from starvation, so it is kind of complicated for me to answer this question. Although if it had happened, I don't think I would turn myself towards cannibalism. I would not be able to live with the thought that I ate someone. I would do like Emmanuel Jal: eat snails, vultures and other kind of food I would find.
If I ever was in a situation where I had no access to food, food that we would normally eat everyday and are used to, I would not turn to cannibalism as I could never have the interest to eat another human being as it makes me disgusted. I would search for anything else to eat in the wild that we would not eat on a day to day business. Mind you, there are people who get desperate for meet especially when food is scarce and therefore turn to cannibalism, but I could never do that. It makes me sick thinking about it.
