Ethical issues are questionable subjects due to the controversy between moral claims from both sides. The article "The ethical dilemmas facing self-driving cars" by Rebecca Lee from CBS News demonstrates how the self-driving car is a good example of a controversy between technology improvement and its efficacy to take human moral claims into consideration. This new product should revolutionize the world and completely change the road experience. Researchers are aware that each road situation is different and programming a computer with ethical reflexes will be a hard job to do.

An issue that has been brought up recently by the Globe And Mail is of a man, Mohammad Nouman Dasu, refusing to let his children go to their primary school’s mandatory music classes. This issue is extremely controversial, because it confronts the man’s religious beliefs, and Toronto’s school system.

The article “Colin Kaepernick Takes a Knee in Latest Anthem Protest” (2016) by Greg Beacham talks about how the NFL player Colin Kaepernick (who plays for the San Francisco 49ers) is protesting against different societal problems in American society such as police brutality, oppression and fighting for equality. He does this by sitting down (the first time) and taking a knee while the national anthem plays during the pre-game. This sparked a lot of controversy and many people criticized Kaepernick’s act for disrespecting the U.S. military and an American tradition.

In the article “SPCA threatens to end pound services if Montreal bans pit bulls” by Michelle Lalonde a writer of the Montreal Gazette, she discusses how the soon to be implemented law to ban pit bulls is now going to affect the SPCA’s future. The banning of this race forces the SPCA to go against what their purpose is. The SPCA was created with the intentions to protect, care for and to rehabilitate animals who have been neglected and mal treated until they find their forever home.

Modern Education and religion can often lead to conflicting ideas which can lead to tensions between parents and a school board. The line between religious accommodation and fairness is often murky and it's hard to come to a definite conclusion to make sure all parties are appeased. In the case of certain school boards in the Greater Toronto area, there have been conflicts on whether or not Muslim students should be exempted from art or music classes due to these classes not conforming to Islamic religious beliefs.

Holding the Olympic Games in an underdeveloped country may not be such a good idea because of the many controversies looming over Rio de Janeiro for the last 20 years. “They said everything to win the Olympic Games, but they said one thing and did another thing,” proclaimed the biologist Mario Moscatelli (“This is a shame” 1). More importantly, water pollution reigns over the Games and the country itself. Rio residents and athletes from all around the world are concerned about those filthy waters.

One of the best article of the class. I find that your article is well structured and that everything is there. The moral claims are well presented and you give excellent examples always referring back to the article. I personally think that animal captivity is bad and that every animals should have the rights to live in the wild. There are living in awful conditions and away from their family(Groups). I think that they should not be put into captivity unless there are in phase of extinction. After reading your article, i thought to myself; Is there another solution than keeping animals in zoos or other living species in captivity for their protection?

I find the subject really interesting because it describes both point of views regarding Donald Trump political campaign. I find that both articles are relevant to the subject but the first article has less information than the second one because according to me, Trump followers can not find any arguments giving him an advantage in the campaign to presidency. There is something missing in this article because they are no clear examples of what people that are supporting Trump of what he does good. I think that Trump should not run for presidency because a racist businessman that does not know how to run a country is really dangerous to the greater good of a country. I personally think that all the scenes during the campaign are aimed to his personal benefits and not to the benefits of its country. Would you let Trump run to the presidency if you consider that he is acting like Hitler did 50 years ago?

Thank you for sharing your point of view with me. I do think that trying to talk and arrange thing in the other way, definitely, would change something. I do not think that they would necessarily be close, because of the past stories that got us here today. This said, I surely think it would help to the freedom and peace of the country and of both groups.

Very good read and a VERY controversial topic these days. All points of view were presented and backed up with examples and the moral values were clearly stated. I personally am against abortion entirely. I know that some people would justify a woman being raped eligible for abortion, I just don't think it's the fault of the child and a human life is a human life... Additionally, many would say that having a child young and not being able to care for it is a good reason to abort. But there are other options to solving your "problem". May parents have to adopt because they can't have kids of their own, I'm sure someone would care for and love your baby just as much if not more than you could. If anything, you should give the child it's best chance, regardless of your own interests.
Now, a question, what are your thoughts on adoption?

Great article! You express every point of view and clearly state the moral claims. Well written and there was no shortage of examples to back up your arguments. I fully agree with everything you said, especially when your arguments opposed Sea World. It's clear that these creatures shouldn't be kept in tanks, for a number of reasons, but also it clearly makes them violent.

Nature in itself shouldn't me meddled with, period. Especially for our own entertainment. If orcas must be kept in captivity, which they absolutely should not, it should be solely for helping injured animals heal. But that's where it stops. The same thing can be said about all animals in captivity. If they are at the point where they can't survive on their own, it's clearly a problem.
Now, a question, do you think domestic animals could be considered animals in captivity?

Now this is a topic that many people are talking about today. It's definitely a controversial topic, as we near closer to the elections. Nevertheless, it was a good read, very well structured. The second article really makes a stronger argument compare to the first. Trump evidently doesn't have much experience in politics, all he really does is add fear and more fear of allowing people into the country that we don't know. So many people side with him because they're afraid of what might happen, which is exactly what he wants. He has little experience in making proper priorities, such as healthcare or education. So, if Trump does get in, what real benefits will he offer besides "keeping the muslims out"?

The subject that you chose is very relevant to our society right now so it brought my attention very quickly. The debate between vegetarian and meat lover is increasing in popularity since a couple of years now. The debate is not only on animal cruelty but also on the environment like you mentioned in your article. Personally, I think that on an environment level, they are both at equality. I really think that doing agriculture or being in the meat industry polluted as much. In my opinion, we should not all become vegetarian because it’s in our nature to eat meat. It’s always have been this way and we need meat. Although, there should be more regulation on the meat industry so everything is done with respect towards the animals and the environment. There should be less big farm with thousands of animals that’s for sure.

I can remember when Donald trump began to run for president over a year ago. I found it amazing. I found him to be a true breath of fresh air because as all of us can see, he really does say whatever he wants to as apposed to every other politician who seemingly has to talk to a group of 40 analysts before being be to say anything. Unfortunately for Trump, he seems to forget or switch positions every other week stripping him of all credibility. Not only that, but Trump clearly does not have even close to a good enough knowledge on politics to even be in the position he is. All trump has going for him, all that he has ever had going for him is his incredible way of speaking with more conviction than anybody els. You have never heard anybody sound so sure of himself. The man could almost convince you that clouds are purple.

Interesting topic! Sadly in the world we live in their are many Preachers and Evangelist who preach false doctrine or do not believe in the full word of God but let me state that Healing in the name of Jesus is accurate. If we refer to the Bible we have many examples of how People Are Baptized in the Holy Spirit in order to use God's Supernatural power in order to perform signs and wonders. When Jesus came to the world he healed many sick before he ascended into heaven but before he did he told his disciples that he would send a helper which is his the Holy Spirit in order to perform signs and wonders in the name of Jesus. Faith Healing is Real and does work today! The book of Acts records the many great healings done by the early church. What are your thoughts?

I find this topic very controversial and super interesting. I did a project last year on this subject and like you, at first a thought that we should be allowed to design our babies if it was for health reasons. But after thinking, it’s completely going against the nature. I we design all the babies; we completely change the nature of life. Disease are there for a reason, it’s natural selection. We need some sort of selection like that. Imagine if all of us where in good shape and lived until were 95. How the planet would handle all of us? I think that something else would replace the diseases to exterminate us to have a balance in our world. I think that everybody would want perfectly healthy child, but in my opinion it’s going against the humans faith.
