Volunteer at the Concordia Greenhouse!

The Concordia Greenhouse is a non-profit organization based in the downtown campus of Concordia University. It is a cooperatively-run project that aspires to strengthen the urban agriculture movement in Montreal and provide learning and networking opportunities for those interested in ecological practices.

Volunteering with the Greenhouse is easy. Their Four Seasons Growing project offers weekly drop-in volunteer sessions, where volunteers can help with the micro-greens weekly harvest. The Atrium Garden’s volunteers help keep the plants healthy and care for the house plants collection. The Balcony Garden Working Group’s volunteers help with pest control, planting and watering. Only the latter requires an RSVP to be able to volunteer; the other opportunities are casual, drop-in sessions which require neither RSVP or experience from their colunteers.

They also have a Farmer’s Market table which could use volunteers for two hour shifts on Wednesdays between 12 and 6 pm.

If you are interested in volunteering for the Concordia Greenhouse, you can contact Sheena Swirlz, the services co-ordinator at info@concordiagreenhouse.com. You can also check out their webpage for more information.
