I think about the problems and solutions for global warming. There are a lot of problems with global warming
Global warming is the continuing rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system.
Future climate change and associated impacts will vary from region to region around the globe.
The effects of an increase in global temperature include a rise in sea levels and a change in the amount and pattern of precipitation, as well as a probable expansion of subtropical deserts.
Global warming is expected in the Arctic with the continuing retreat of glaciers, permafrost and sea ice.
Other likely effects of Global Warming include more frequent extreme weather events including heat waves, droughts and heavy rainfall, ocean acidification and species extinctions due to shifting temperature regimes.
Effects significant to humans is the threat to food security from decreasing crop yields and the loss of habitat from inundation.
This problem is also affecting Japan. During the 100 years of the 20th century (1901-2000) the average temperature in Japan rose about 1 ℃. The Impact of heat islands in urban areas also added to the problem in particular, was about a 2.9 ℃ rise in Tokyo. In addition, days where the temperature goes above 30℃, increase in urban areas also the number of days with the tropical night, increased and the number of days where the temperature drops below 0℃ decreased. There are variations by region in the changes in precipitation, but the number of times of heavy rain of more than 50 mm rainfall tended to increase slightly. Snowfall has decreased in some areas. During the period 1970-2003 changes in the sea level were about 2 mm per year whereby the sea level is rising on the Japanese coast.
Moreover, the southernmost island of Japan, Okinotorishima was sinking because of global warming and the waves. However, Japan didn't want to lose the exclusive economic zone 200 sea miles large. So, Japan protected it with a large construction.
In this way, we must solve the problem of global warming. I focused on new resources as a solution. It is a methane hydrate. Compared to coal and oil, methane has about half the carbon dioxide emissions at the time of combustion. It is to be a new energy source effective as a global warming countermeasure. Moreover, Methane hydrate is sleeping a lot in the sea near Japan.
I think that the world wants to find a more global warming countermeasures as new resources.
