Can you dress yourself happy?

As I sit here writing this, I am wearing my lucky socks. Do they actually work? Am I luckier if I am wearing them? Apparently, the answer is yes, just so long as I believe that they are indeed lucky. This is because belief can affect our cognitive processes and consequently our emotions and actions. Think of it as being very much like positive visualization. So, wearing one of my funny t-shirts, probably my "Happiness is bicycle shaped" one, can make me happy. It is also interesting how we pick up on other people's perceptions of our clothing and that this then builds on our belief, very much like the looking-glass self.

I now just need to convince myself I am more attractive in red, and I will become more attractive! If only it were that easy...
