Antidepressants in Bipolar Disorder: The Controversy ContinuesAntidepressants in Bipolar Disorder: The Controversy Continues

This article talks about the controversy of treating bipolar patients with antidepressants. It has been widley believed that antidepressants are a trigger for mania and shouldn't be used to treat bipolar patients. After reading this article I am torn whether they should be taking AD's or not, but if I had to chose I would say that they should continue not treating bipolar patients with AD's since it is still quite controversial. http://pro.psychcentral.com/2013/antidepressants-in-bipolar-disorder-the-controversy-continues/002417.html

I found this article very interesting, and i do support your opinion. I believe that they should definitely not treat people who are suffering from bipolar disorder with antidepressants if it is widely believed that they are a trigger for mania, which is also something that should be prevented as it already occurs to individuals suffering from bipolar. They should stop using antidepressants for treatment since it is still controversial, and for now they should treat patients with Lithium or Lamictal.

Although I believe they shouldnt stop all together. If it works for some people then by all means let them receive that treatment, but for the majority of cases they should not be used.
