Part time job and school

Generally, students want to have a part time job during the year. Just to have some pocket money for our daily needs or the activities outside of schools like cinema, shopping etc. This can lead to positive or negative effects on our school work.

It's important to be aware that having too many hours can cause a decline in school .The problem is that students will often take too many hours and don't know the consequences. They are not able to be employed more than 15-20 hours per week because their grades start to be lower and they don’t have enough time to study. So they start to do less homework and then start to fail courses. This situation can eventually means that the students will drop school because it’s too though and then take the job as full time.

But if a student is able to handle his part time job of 15 hours a week and his school, that can have many positive points on his life. The benefits on the student is that he will be more organized, be more responsible, they will feel more like an adult and their self-esteem grows.

So the lesson is that if students want a part time job during school year, they have to know how to handle both, school and work. Students should be conscious of their academic progress through their jobs.
