A study which have last 80 years long shows some healthy habits and tips to live a long and happy life.
The study who end up as a book called The Longevity Project was made by two writers, including a psychologist. They demystify the secrets to live longer. One of the conclusions of this study was that people who have a lot of human relationships or a great social life live longer. Also, people who worked the hardest live the longest because they have goals and a meaning to their life. Furthermore, the cigarette smoke’s exposure is something we have to avoid. A 2013 research, made by McMaster University on mice, discovers that female mice exposed to cigarette smoke on a period of eight weeks suffered cell damages and their system of reproduction have been affected. In addition, the study shows how important it is to have a healthy diet and be physically active. They say we should do a lot of strength exercises because they are “anti-aging”.
In the beginning of the article, they say the study has been made in San Francisco on 1 500 persons. Therefore, the study is only based on a small group of people in a particular region. To be really relevant and reliable, the study should be expanded all around the world. Except this fact, the article is really interesting and I thought it could give people good tips to improve their happiness or simply their life. To conclude, I think this study just confirms what we already know about healthy lifestyle. On the other hand, it makes us aware of what to do to lead a good and happy life!
