Facebook: State Property?

Nowadays, everybody knows about the giant of Internet: Facebook. It’s a tool that allows you to share pictures and to chat with people online. You may think your Facebook account is very private and safe because you changed your security settings to the maximum. In fact, you are not protected from all sorts of intrusion… police and governments can actually have access to your informations even if they are categorized as private.

Governments and police can inquire data on your Facebook almost whenever they want. They just have to send a request to the Facebook site and they almost always receive all your private information. Facebook said that they cooperated in 80% of the cases. Approximately 40000 users were affected by this social intrusion in the first half of 2013 .

Personally, I think this is not right and we should be able to keep information for ourselves. I don’t want someone to look at my personal conversation and to search for some data…  I don’t know why Facebook doesn’t try to resist a little bit to the authority and make Facebook totally personal. Maybe if it goes like that Facebook will lose the thrust of the people and a safe and private media will rise.
