“ Together in Our Grief and United in Our Results”

After the attacks of Paris that happened on Friday November 13th 2015, Humanists Canada issued a publication saying that ‘’Once again, we are together in our grief and united in our results’’.  They give their sympathy to the victims and the families, and they say that people are earth are again dealing with ‘’inhumane attacks’’. They are expecting that justice will win and that the terrorists will stop, and they express this by also adding ‘’humanity has never succumbed to bullying’’. They are also very happy with the reaction of humanity, by giving the examples of the #PrayForParis, the ‘’Portes Ouvertes’’, by people signing the France’s National Anthem, and by the taxi ‘’closing their meters’’, etc. They say these are good act of people that show their humanity during inhumane attacks. They also finish by saying ‘’the end never justifies this action’’.

The readers can understand through this publication that humanists really do not agree with what happen, they find this really inhumane. However, in this disgusting situation people were together and will continue to all be united to fight back for their rights, and they won’t be stopped. So, as the humanists say, there will always be humanity during inhumanity.

I completely agree with what you are saying about the good act people are doing for the Syrian. But we also need to be realistic. As I said in my blog post, most people on Facebook put the flag of France in profile picture but didn't even really understand the situation. Most of the Canadians are now scared to welcome the 25 000 refugees in their country. YES, a lot of people also understand the situation and even want to accelerate the process of refuge. But at this point, I don't think we can say that everything is going well...
